Sphere 3D Corp. (NASDAQ:ANY) reported that Unified ConneXions, Inc. and HVE ConneXions, LLC will join the company’s family of firms. The company has finalized a definitive deal to buy HVE ConneXions, a hybrid cloud technology firm focused on hyperconverged and converged infrastructure, beside with its sister entity, Unified ConneXions, Inc., which offers professional, expert and IT services to government, educational institutions and corporate.
By adding UCX’s leading products, technologies, engineering talent and professional services, Sphere 3D will develop its virtualization practice and enhance its ability to fasten the delivery of hybrid cloud offerings to client. The acquisition is dependent on the customary closing conditions and is expected to close before January 31, 2017.

The combined virtualization revenue of UCX and represented more than $7 million for 2016. With this deal expected to be accretive in 1Q2017, it will help company get faster to profitability. It will also expand virtualization market footprint in healthcare, education and other major verticals. The deal is expected to bring considerable engineering talent to assist customers and channel partners through advanced support capabilities and professional services.
UCX and Sphere 3D share the architectural design concept that next-gen virtualization and storage offerings require distributed workloads to get the fastest performance while upholding cost-effective and flexible scalability.
