Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE:WHR) and Habitat have staged a decision to maintain their long-term relationship to support the humanity through the year 2018. It is the 19th year of the relationship between both the nonprofit organization and appliances manufacturer to extend the necessary support for families that need affordable housing.

As per the terms of the accord, Whirlpool provides a new refrigerator for every new Habitat home constructed in Canada and the US.

Corporate Vice President (Communications and Public Affairs) of Whirlpool, Jeff Noel said the relationship between Habit and Whirlpool have strengthened further over the passing years and will continue to work with Habitat through 2018 to support the humanity.

Whirlpool is continuing its efforts together with Habitat to improve the lives of people, who are need of support. Both the companies will create a positive impact on the lives of people living in the US and across the world.

The combined effort will involve hundreds of volunteers to build thirty houses in South Bend and Mishawaka, Indiana under the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. The event will take place between August 26 and 21, 2018.

Whirlpool will also engage in another event in October 2018 with Kelley School of Business, Indiana University to build a house in Bloomington, Indiana area. The event will last for 10 days. The company will also sponsor the construction of a house in Benton Harbor, Michigan. It will also partially support the construction of homes around the US.

Since the alliance between Habitat and Whirlpool in 1999, the latter contributed a sum of $107 million to Habitat for Humanity cause.

Global Reach for Humanity Cause

Over 9,000 employees of Whirlpool are extending support for Habitat each year to build homes for the needy. Whirlpool participated in 14 projects involving over 200 volunteers in eight locations worldwide in the year 2017.
