All the publishers who shall be included in the test shall have the opportunity to use the tools once a day and set the time limits for how long the story can be breaking and which should not exceed six hours.
The project has been attributed to Facebook’s initiative to connect people and one of the ways to link up people is through sharing of news and stories with friends and families in which case they must be timely
In its pilot project, Facebook sampled a few publishers like News Corp, ABC, Fairfax, Nine, Seven etc. hence this will ensure the breaking stories stand out more than other stories in the news feed.
The publishers are also expected to get statistical feedbacks from the project for which so far have been recorded as positive i.e. the likes, shares and comments. Once this picks up, it shall be expanded to more platforms.
