For many the iPhone SE remains the best iPhone in 2016. The iPhone SE is incredibly very fast, it is compact, has a great camera, its battery has a longer lifespan than any other iPhone and comes at $399 bargain price tag.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s move to call off its 2017 upgrade programs has always drawn suspicions on the company’s next move. Unconfirmed reports indicate that Apple could be at advanced stages to unveil the iPhone 8. In a Target memo from the retailer, Apple has recalled all unsold iPhone SE. All apple’s stores are required to return their unsold stock of the iPhone SE by March 1st. this order will affect all iPhone SE i.e. both 64GB and 16GB models in Silver, Gold Space Gray and Rose Gold plus its two Sprint variants.

Additionally, reports indicate that Apple had already ceased supplying the iPhone SE stock to its retailers since September 2016. Speculative reports further indicate that poor sales could be the reason for the turn of events although Apple had on a number of occasions said the iPhone SE had recorded good sales. This rules out the possibility of poor sales as the reason for the recall and instead adds more on speculations the company’s next move.

The March 1st deadline given to retailers to clear their stocks comes just a few weeks of Apple’s expected March event. At the event, Apple may introduce new iPads and an upgraded version of the iPhone SE which according to many, makes a lot of sense.

Whether the upgrade will involve new hardware or simply increasing on storage capacity to align it with other iPhone models, it remains speculative. Whatever the step that the company will take, it is evident that Apple fans are on the lookout for a potential big announcement.

There is high expectation that the iPhone 8 will not only allow Apple’s smartphones be a better competitive position among other Androids, but also outperform other better placed smartphone models. As it stands, two of Apple’s biggest enablers-wireless charging and a curved display have been cancelled.
